Lift Right

Alt Text

Improper lifting is a common cause of many types of back injuries. Twisting and turning while lifting can do the most damage. Whether you’re helping a friend move out of their apartment or picking something up at work, most of us lift things incorrectly.

Rather than simply bending over to lift the item with your knees locked, form a "tripod" by placing one knee on the ground with the item you’re lifting close to your body.

Lift the weight over the knee on the ground and then continue lifting by straightening both legs. This way of lifting is far better than keeping both feet together and bending both knees at once!

Why are frequent visits advised when starting chiropractic care?
Consistent visits at the beginning of your chiropractic care help create the momentum necessary to correct and retrain unhealthy spinal patterns. Later, Austin patients find that continued care on a less frequent visit schedule can help preserve their progress and avoid a relapse.
Is a muscle spasm a cause or an effect?
With the knee-jerk use of muscle relaxers, you'd think it was a cause. But it's an effect. Chiropractors know that bones don't move unless muscles move them. And muscles don't contract unless commanded by the nervous system. That's why your nervous system is the focus of our Austin chiropractic practice.
