About Austin Chiropractors at VanDeWalle Chiropractic

Our Philosophy:

We believe there is an intelligence found in each individual that not only keeps that person alive, but which also rebuilds, renews and heals. The nervous system is a main organizing system and distribution center for this innate intelligence. As such, our care focuses on the spine -- specifically, vertebral subluxations that interfere with the proper functioning of the nervous system and its ability to send, receive and organize life force and intelligence.

Identifying the weakness (vulnerability) before the injury is critical to success. If you are an athlete or just trying to get back into shape (starting a new workout plan), injuries (big or small) hold you back from progressing. Injuries occur the majority of time at the beginning of the season, or when the athlete is trying to progress. What happens when you have an injury? First you must heal from the injury (a few weeks) then you must rehab the injury (another few weeks) and then finally you are ready to train again. This process sometimes takes 8-12 or more weeks before you are even back to the way you were before the injury thus delaying sometimes devastating your physical goals. We focus on identifying that weakness making you less "vulnerable" to injury allowing you progress that much faster.

Dr. Mike Asks some important questions of interest to Austin residents - Chiropractor Austin Dr. Mike Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
